Mr. Lee, a 96-year-old WWII veteran, was driving to his regular restaurant, Chick-Fil-A in Severn, Maryland. He was going there for his regular chicken biscuits and coffee. While driving, Lee noticed that one of the tires went flat. Although it was difficult to steer the car, Lee managed to reach the restaurant. Lee was worried about how he would fix the tire without any help.
As he walked out of the parking lot, Rudy Somoza, the host at the restaurant enquired about being stressed. Lee informed Rudy about the flat tire.

Rudy told Daryl, one of the managers at the restaurant, about Lee’s concerns. Without any hesitation, Daryl told Mr. Lee that he would take care of the things. Lee was appreciative that the Manager of the restaurant had taken time to fix the flat tire of his car. In a few minutes, Daryl got the spare tire from his trunk. He then jacked up Lee’s car and changed the tire. Lee was having a bad day, and with Daryl’s kind gesture, he was moved.

Daryl’s civility and generosity towards elderly Lee inspired Rudy to share the said incident on social media. Rudy wrote, “His action of kindness was beautiful. Daryl has always been so helpful to anyone in need and deserves this recognition.” Sharing about Lee’s petrified state Rudy wrote,“[He] was shaking, almost in tears saying he barely made it to the store on three tires because it was so bad.” The story gained many likes and has encouraged numerous online users to help those in need as their daily routine. Many users have thanked Daryl for his kindness.

“That was a wonderful act to help that elderly gentleman. We have so many wonderful people who help but wouldn’t it be nice if everybody does something nice for someone every day. It doesn’t take much just a smile or say how are you today, have a wonderful day etc.” commented Linda F. “Thank you! To the WWII vet for his service and sacrifices for our country. And thank you to both Chick filA employees for caring enough to help this gentleman in need.
May God continue to bless all of you!” wrote Julia F. “They should be sharing more things that good people do for others instead of all the bad things we are seeing on the news media. Thank you for helping this gentleman,” wrote Sandra A.
